The Louisville Barn Raising Louisville's Barn Raising took place on January 13th and 14th, 2014 at the 21C Museum/Hotel in downtown Louisville. The event prepared our stakeholders, those invested in changing our local food system, to move forward together by signing onto a variety of projects designed to help change how we produce, consume and deliver local food to Louisville and across the state.

How We Connect People IROQUOIS VALLEY FARMS CONNECTS WITH LOCAL FARMER Andy Loving, who attended the Barn Raising as an investor, is on the board of an organization called Iroquois Valley Farms. The organization just made its first purchase of land here in Kentucky to lease 120 acres of land to Mike Lewis, also a Barn Raising attendee, in Rockcastle County. Mike and his brother are going to grow veggies on the land. The Barn Raising was the conduit for the relationship between Mike and Andy that led to this purchase, and we are going to get credit for it in a Farm Blast that Iroquois Valley Farms is sending out today to its members.
